IFCC/EFLM Participated in the 5th TURKEY IN VITRO DIAGNOSTICS (IVD) SYMPOSIUM

🧬 5th Turkish IVD Symposium with IFCC/EFLM Participation
“Quality Control and Handling Procedures of Industrially Used MAb/PAb/Ag” Discussed

Organized by the Turkish Biochemical Society, the 5th Turkey In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) Symposium, with the participation of IFCC (International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine) and EFLM (European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine), brought together both national and international experts.

This year’s main theme was:
“Quality Control and Handling Procedures of Monoclonal Antibodies (MAb), Polyclonal Antibodies (PAb), and Antigens (Ag) Used in Industry.”

🔍 Agenda: Quality and Reliability in the Diagnostic Industry
The symposium addressed key topics such as quality control standards, stability, validation criteria, biological risks, and regulatory compliance throughout the processes of production, transport, storage, and application of biological agents used in diagnostics.

🌐 International Participation, Scientific Depth
Supported by global authorities such as IFCC and EFLM, the symposium brought together:
🔹 Clinical biochemistry specialists,
🔹 Industry representatives,
🔹 Quality systems consultants, and
🔹 Academics,
who shared their experiences and evaluated current practices.

💬 Highlighted Presentations and Contributions
Notable sessions included:

  • Production protocols and quality criteria of MAb/PAb,

  • Stability and transport conditions of antigens in diagnostic use,

  • Contamination risks and preventive measures during handling,

  • Impact of antibody-antigen interactions on IVD kit sensitivity,

  • Compliance processes with GMP and ISO 13485 standards in industry.

🎯 Strengthening Industry-Academia Collaboration
The symposium stood out as a key platform where academic knowledge meets industry practices. Participants emphasized the critical importance of knowledge sharing and quality-oriented production to enhance the global competitiveness of local diagnostic systems.

🧪 Archem and Industry Representatives
The event featured the participation of Archem, among other domestic IVD manufacturers, who represented the producers’ perspective. The sharing of on-field experiences by industry stakeholders enriched the symposium’s practical outcomes.

📌 Conclusion
“The quality of biological agents such as MAb, PAb, and Ag forms the cornerstone of reliability in IVD products. Upholding scientific principles, adherence to standards, and cross-sector collaboration are all essential to sustaining this quality.”
